We are seeking a Senior Global Clinical Program Director to join our growing Clinical Operations team and take a leadership role in driving the successful execution of our clinical development programs. The final title and level will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and demonstrated leadership capabilities. Candidates who do not fully meet the requirements for the Senior level may be considered for appointment as Global Clinical Program Director.
In this role, you will lead clinical programs across all phases of development, driving the strategic development and execution of the Clinical Development Plan (CDP). You will provide program leadership and oversight across multiple clinical development activities, ensuring alignment between program objectives, development strategy, operational execution, and regulatory requirements. You will lead cross-functional teams, coordinate internal stakeholders and external partners, and oversee all aspects of program planning, governance, risk management, and delivery.
We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in clinical program leadership in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, strong leadership skills, and the ability to combine strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the Clinical Project Team (CPT), driving program strategy, cross-functional alignment, and delivery of the Clinical Development Plan (CDP)
Establish the team structure and ways of working required to build a high-performing CPT, ensuring strong Clinical Operations leadership and effective cross-functional collaboration across functions including Medical, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory Affairs, and Biostatistics.
Serve as the Clinical Operations representative in the Global Project Team (GPT), contributing to overall program strategy, governance, and clinical development and execution planning.
Provide program leadership and direction to ensure adherence to scope, quality, budget, timelines, and proactive risk management; escalate key program issues to the Global Project Team (GPT).
Accountable for Clinical Operations deliverables supporting regulatory submissions, regulatory interactions, clinical study reports, and inspection readiness activities.
Oversee planning, start-up, conduct, reporting, and close-out of clinical trials, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, GCP/ICH, and industry standards.
Lead vendor and CRO strategy, selection, oversight, and performance management across the clinical program.
Build and maintain effective relationships with investigators, clinical sites, and key external stakeholders to support program execution and successful trial delivery.
Essential Skills/Experience:
Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degree in related discipline, or equivalent work experience
12 years of relevant experience
Extensive global drug development leadership or equivalent leadership experience demonstrated in a variety of roles
Extensive experience across the product life cycle with experience in late-stage development and ideally across multiple therapeutic areas
Clinical operations knowledge with strong track record of delivery
Comprehensive knowledge of the clinical and pharmaceutical drug development process
Significant experience of program management including resourcing, financial management and business case development
Proven ability to develop successful collaborations with internal stakeholders and external partners
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven teamwork and ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of functions
Track record of planning, prioritization and delivery success
